Why I Started Clearli
I’ve dealt with eczema and contact dermatitis for my entire life. The pain, the burning, the reactions — it was exhausting. But worse than the symptoms was the constant uncertainty. I never felt in control of my skin, no matter how careful I was.
Even after allergy testing gave me clear answers, I still struggled to find safe products. Ingredient labels were confusing, and “clean” or “natural” marketing meant nothing. I knew what I was allergic to — but applying that knowledge in real life was almost impossible.
While a few tools exist to help patients navigate skincare, they weren’t built with patients at the center. They’re controlled by institutions that prioritize proprietary systems over patient access, keeping key information hard to use or understand. These tools don’t explain why a product might be unsafe, or help translate allergy results into meaningful, everyday decisions. They feel clinical, rigid, and disconnected from the people they’re meant to serve.
So I left my job on Wall Street and set out to build something better.
I studied Applied Math at Harvard University, and I believe we can use data to solve real problems — including allergies. Clearli is my attempt to do that. It’s a tool I’m building for people who live with contact allergies — by someone who’s lived it too.
